MTS Level 4 - Research Assistant - Department of Health Management - Atlantic Veterinary College (Grant Funded)
$23.19 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay as per CUPE 1870 (Grant Funded)
As soon as possible until November 1, 2021 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements)
The Department of Health Management invites applications for a research assistant to work on a One Health project, mainly responsible for qualitative data analysis but may also include other activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transcription of interview data conducted with lay members of the public surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic
- Analysis of interview data using thematic analysis
- Other duties as assigned by faculty members at the Department of Health Management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree with a strong One Health focus and excellent GPA
- Previous experience with qualitative research (including interviewing study participants)
- Understanding of, and experience with, epidemiological methods
- A thorough understanding of human health behavior theories
- Previous research experience in highly productive research environments, and preferably related to the Covid-19 pandemic
- Excellent scientific writing skills, presentation skills, and knowledge of research ethics, including successful completion of the TCPS Core 2 certificate
