Sessional Instructor - Journalism - Faculty of Arts (Winter 2022)
A Sessional Instructor is required to teach a three-hour credit course in Journalism for the Winter 2022 semester (January-May 2022). This position is subject to budgetary approval.
JOUR 3010: The Long Form
The Long Form provides students with the opportunity to improve their reporting skills and to broaden their perspective by taking the long view of contemporary issues and events. In addition to developing their expertise with enterprise journalism, narrative journalism, and documentary storytelling, students will complete a final project that reflects best practices in the long form.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant should have a background in journalism and media studies, obtained through a Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline or area of study, preferably in journalism or media studies, or through applicable professional experience. A publishing, research, outreach, and teaching background in the subject would be an asset.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
