The Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Prince Edward Island, is seeking applications from one qualified, graduate student, to assist with the Master in Global Affairs program.  The program runs in the fall semester at UPEI and continues in Europe for the winter semester.  This position is primarily for the fall semester. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, and the coordinator of the Master in Global Affairs the candidate will work on a combination of assignments in support of Master in Global Affairs students including but not limited to:

  • Organizing meetings, events and seminars
  • Advise students  on housing, travel, and logistics of studying in Madrid and Strasbourg
  • General understanding of the visa process and requirements for different nationalities in order to assist students going abroad
  • Provide information about UPEI
  • Connect with other offices at UPEI
  • Review communications with students
  • Assist in preparation of promotional material and the dissemination of  information regarding the  student experience at UPEI and in Europe
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Senior Graduate student of UPEI
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Experience and knowledge of the Master in Global Affairs program an asset
  • Familiarity with UPEI, URJC, Strasbourg, and Geneva study environments
  • Familiarity with the visa applications and other aspects of studying in Europe 
  • Familiarity with accommodation, and other logistics in Charlottetown, Madrid, Strasbourg, and Geneva
  • Excellent communication skills.  Knowledge of French and/or Spanish an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working with diversity and international students.

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
