The Department of English invites applications for the position of Sessional Instructor to teach English 3810 (Professional Writing) in the in the Fall 2019 term, subject to budgetary approval. There are two sections available. Applicants should indicate the sections to which they are applying.

3810 PROFESSIONAL WRITING
This course introduces students from a variety of disciplines to the skills and tasks required for effective communication in a professional environment. The course focuses on the following: analytical reports, proposals, descriptions of processes, extended definitions, instructions, business correspondence, memoranda, graphics, presentation of data, and oral presentations. Assignments, designed for the student=s particular discipline, emphasize a sound analysis of the goals for each task, and the effective, economical, clear, and correct use of language to achieve these goals.

English 3810-1 Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 - 9:45 a.m.

English 3810-2 Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 - 11:15 a.m.

Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in English or a cognizant discipline, as well as teaching experience at the post-secondary level.  Experience teaching professional writing will be considered as asset.
