The Department of Chemistry has an opening for a sessional instructor for the upcoming Winter Semester 2022 (January – April 2022) to teach Chemistry 3220 – Analytical Instrumentation. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

CHEM 3220– Analytical Instrumentation (T-Th 10:00-11:15)

This course introduces a variety of instrumentation techniques, and examines the theory, advantages and limitations associated with each. Topics include UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy, operational components of spectrophotometers; electro-analytical methods, potentiometric methods, ion-specific electrodes, voltammetry, liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, spreadsheet methods and statistical software. 

Qualifications:

Successful applicants will have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related area.

Priority will be given to qualified individuals on the sessional roster of the academic unit.
