Dr. Bill Whelan is seeking one research assistant to work on a project to optimize, fabricate and evaluate a prototype microfluidics-based DNA amplification device.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Test, analyze, optimize a controllable heating element
• Test, analyze, optimize electrical interface connections and overall circuit board architecture
• Analyze collected electrical data to determine optimal operational characteristics of the device
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successful candidate will be enrolled in an undergraduate physics or engineering program
• Experience with CAD design
• Experience with testing and evaluation of electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
