Graduate Student Laboratory Instructors (Up to 12 Positions) - Department of Biology - Faculty of Science
$19.75 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
September 8, 2020 – December 31, 2020
The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from UPEI graduate students who are interested in instructing laboratories in the following Biology courses in the Fall 2020 semester:
Current Issues in Environmental Biology (Bio 1010), Human Anatomy (Bio 1210), Genes, Cells and Macromolecules (Bio 1310), Zoology (Bio 2040), Ecology (Bio 2220), Research Methods and Communications in Biology (Bio 3310), Intro Physiology of Cells and Organisms (Bio 3260), Plant-Animal Interactions (Bio 3660), Biodiversity & Conservation Biology (Bio 4540), Molecular Biotechnology (Bio 4710)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrating, assisting or instructing, conducting tutorials, and the marking of exams and assignments; most class activities will be conducted online
- The successful applicants will be required to participate on a weekly basis for the duration of the Fall semester (3-4 hours per lab per week)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must possess good communication skills
- Preference will be given to current UPEI Graduate Students
- Be WHMIS trained or be willing to take the training
- Must have knowledge of the course material and have an acceptable academic record (min. 2.7 GPA)
