Student Markers and Teaching Assistants (Up to 4 Positions) - Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
$13.00 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay)
Summer A: May 15, 2021 to June 30, 2021
Summer B: July 5, 2021 to August 20, 2021
The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering is seeking applications for Student Markers and Teaching Assistants for Summer A and B semesters to assist instructors with course grading and to provide in-person and/or virtual support to the labs for the following courses:
Summer A:
ENGN 1230 Engn Mechanics I: Statics MTW 6 – 9 pm
ENGN 2830 Digital Logic Design TWTh 6 – 9 pm
Summer B:
ENGN 1340 Engn Mechanics II: Dynamics MTW 6 – 9 pm
ENGN-2130 Stats for Engn Applications TWTh 6 – 9 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Markers:
- Assist the instructor with grading of assignments, tests and other materials as assigned
- Maintain records of grades for students
Lab Teaching Assistants:
- Assist the instructor with the supervision of students in undergraduate laboratories
- Provide pre-lab instruction and guidance to students for completion of undergraduate labs
- Work with the instructor and lab technician to ensure that all students are aware of safe laboratory procedures and comply with the same
- Assist instructor with student evaluation as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Student Markers and Teaching Assistants:
- Undergraduate students in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering degree programs
- Applicants will have successfully completed the course for which the position applies, or have relevant alternative experience (for ENGN 2130 any statistics course experience is acceptable)
- Excellent academic performance will be an asset
- Previous experience as a Student Marker or as a Teaching Assistant will be an asset
- Must be available during the class time

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
