Sessional Instructor - Department of Biology (Fall 2020)
The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor during Fall 2020. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval. Individuals qualified to teach the following course are encouraged to apply by July 2nd.
BIO 4710 - MOLECULAR BIOTECHNOLOGY
This course examines principles of gene manipulation, and the application of molecular biology in biotechnology. Recent developments in medicine, agriculture, industry and basic research are considered. Emphasis is placed on reviewing current literature in the field. Lecture equivalent to three hours a week
(Classes Tue/Thurs 10:00 - 11:15)
Please note: This course may be delivered in person or on-line as required in response to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a field of science/biology related to the respective course content. Documented experience teaching these courses would be a definite asset.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
Salary:
As per Sessional Instructor Stipends outlined in the Collective Agreement of the UPEI Faculty Association, Bargaining Unit #1
