The Department of Music at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a sessional instructor in Applied Clarinet for the 2022-2023 academic year. Duties include individual studio instruction of the techniques and artistry of clarinet performance. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

MUS 1211/1212 – Applied Clarinet I and II

This course is designed to nurture each students' technical skills and musical artistry on clarinet. To achieve this, the study will comprise idiomatic techniques in addition to exercises of facility, articulation studies, slow phrasing studies, and performance literature.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in clarinet, significant experience in both solo and collaborative performance, and a substantial record of successful clarinet teaching at the high school and/or university level.

Members of the Department of Music’s Sessional Roster will be given priority in consideration for this position.
