Sessional Instructor - Department of History (Fall 2020)
The Department of History and Classics invites applications for Sessional Instructors to teach the following course during Fall 2020. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.
CLAS 2210, Classical Mythology (cross-listed as Religious Studies 1210)
This course surveys the Greek and Roman myths as they are found in the religion, pre-scientific thought, literature, philosophy and art of the Ancient World. These myths helped to make the universe, society, and the individual intelligible to the Ancients and have contributed significantly to the art and literature of Western Civilization. The aim of the course is to provide both a general understanding of Greek and Roman culture and a basis for further work in Classics.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in History, Classics or a related discipline, and teaching and/or research experience that addresses classical mythology in relation to Western culture.
Qualified applicants on the UPEI Sessional Roster of the Department of History will be given priority.
