The ClimateSense Project (www.climatesense.ca) housed within the School of Climate Change and Adaptation at the University of Prince Edward Island is currently seeking a Student Assistant to work on communications-related projects within the larger project.

ClimateSense is a climate change training and development program committed to providing adaptation learning and development specific to Prince Edward Island that targets professionals of all levels of expertise. The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of the ClimateSense Project Coordinator, Ross Dwyer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance and development of the ClimateSense website

  • Assistance with the marketing and branding of ClimateSense and ClimateSense-related events
  • Professional and technical writing of public and private documents
  • Assist with researching, writing, and posting social media content
  • Consistent communication and collaboration with the Project Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Student with a minimum of 2nd year standing currently enrolled in either Applied Communications, Leadership, and Culture, Applied Climate Change and Adaptation, or Environmental Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island
  • WordPress/web development skills required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong professional writing/communication skills
  • Superior organization, planning, and time management skills
     

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
