The Faculty of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island has openings for sessional instructors to teach Online courses in the under graduate program and the MBA in Global Leadership program in Summer Session 2020. These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

Under Graduate Program:
BUS3010 Business Law – Part I (July 6 – August 21, 2020 - Online)
This course offers students a basic introduction to the legal system and, in particular, the areas of tort, property, and contract law. A major portion of the course is devoted to the study of the legal implications of contractual issues in business endeavours. Legal cases are used, when applicable, to illustrate principles of law.

Qualifications for undergraduate courses:
Successful applicants will have a minimum of a master's level degree or equivalent with a combination of qualifications and experience. Expertise in business law is required.

MBA in Global Leadership Program:
BUS 7550 Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Global Business Environment (Course dates July 6th – July 24th Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 8:30am to 12:30pm - Online)
This course focuses on the management of innovation and the pursuit of entrepreneurship in different regions of the world and in trans-national settings. The concepts covered are relevant to existing businesses aiming to structure their innovation portfolio and to new, aspiring businesses looking to create value from market opportunities.  Topics include change management, technological innovation, entrepreneurship around the world, entrepreneurial marketing, entrepreneurial finance, and characteristics of entrepreneurs.  Students are required to demonstrate competence through in-depth analysis of relevant cases related to these topics.

Qualifications for MBA courses:
Because these are MBA courses, we seek applicants with a strong combination of qualifications and experience. Minimum educational credentials include a PhD and/or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. In addition, advanced senior management experience in the course topic is preferred, and is a requirement for applicants without a PhD. Prior teaching experience, and knowledge and familiarity with “Evidence-based Management” principles will be considered assets.

Also note, priority will be given to qualified individuals on the sessional roster of the academic unit.
