On large-scale assessments students can be excluded from participating for three reasons. Excluding students due to intellectual disability has increased on recent large-scale assessments while the other two reasons have fluctuated insignificantly.  Literature has focused on issues related to the ambiguity in guidelines governing excluding students from LSAs and the necessity to include students with disabilities. The purpose of this study is to examine large-scale assessment data at the international, national, provincial level for evidence of high exclusion rates and potential factors influencing this practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze large-scale assessment data
  • Identify trends in large-scale assessment data at the provincial, national and international level
  • Synthesize findings in a scholarly format

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A background in quantitative statistics
  •  Interest in large-scale assessment
  • Excellent writing skills
