The Department of English invites applications for an eight (8) month contract for the 2022/ 2023 Academic Year. The position will begin September 1, 2022 and is subject to final budgetary approval.

In the Fall Term, the person will teach one section of English 1010 (Academic Writing), one section of English 1210 (Heroes, Lovers, Gods, and Monsters: Survey of Literature from its Beginnings to 1789), and English 2960 (Writing About Literature).

In the Winter Term, the person will teach one section of English 1010 (Academic Writing), one section of English 1220 (Visionaries, Rebels, Exiles, and Reformers: Survey of Literature from 1785 to the Present), and English 2240 (Science Fiction).

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a PhD in English and a record of teaching at the post-secondary level. The successful candidate will teach six (6) classes. While the intention is to offer these courses with an in-person component, the successful candidate should also be able to deliver the courses online.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
