The Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the Atlantic Veterinary College is seeking Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) applicants to fill a Client Services/Dispensary/TRIAGE Veterinary Technician position for a 1 year term with a possibility of extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Dispensary duties including:
• Filling prescriptions
• One-over-one checking of prescriptions
• Cubex (inventory cabinet) maintenance including counts, adjusting discrepancies, and filling purchase orders
• Backing up Dispensary Lead Hand including chemotherapy preparation, pharmaceutical ordering, billing prescriptions, and inventory control

Client Services duties including:
• Medication counseling
• Nutrition counseling
• Liaising between the front desk and technicians/clinicians on the floor
• Assist with billing management to ensure accuracy of charges

TRIAGE responsibilities include:
• Be the point of contact for client services with TRIAGE related phone calls & walk-ins
• Liaising between the front desk and the TRIAGE intern
• Work as part of the daytime TRIAGE team within the VTH
• Additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a graduate of an Animal Health Technician program from a recognized facility
• RVT designation is required
• 3 plus years of experience working in a clinical setting
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated reliability and self-motivation
• Strong computer skills with demonstrated ability in Windows and iOS Operating Systems
• Previous experience with computerized medical records is required, with preference to applicants with knowledge of RxWorks and SmartFlow
• Demonstrated skills in multi-tasking, time-management, and adaptability
• Demonstrated ability to work well on a team
• Preference given to individuals with experience in specialty referral or academic veterinary practice
