Student Research Assistant - Department of Psychology - Faculty of Arts
$19.32 plus 4% vacation pay

The Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Program in Clinical Psychology seeks a UPEI undergraduate or graduate student research assistant to conduct reviews and systematic reviews of the literature and to compile and communicate about data on clinical psychology training. In addition, the graduate student researcher will be in contact with other clinical training programs to speak with relevant personnel about key aspects of clinical psychology training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision from the Director of Global Outreach (DGO), the successful applicant will conduct systematic or narrative reviews in areas that relate to key program principles and training components, and systematically contact other Canadian and international training programs to obtain information central to training. The researcher will also compile and synthesize this data and organize it into a coherent and most appropriate form(s).
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a UPEI graduate student
- Have excellent organization skills
- Oral and written communications skills
- Computer skills (in word processing, spreadsheets, database management, statistical software, internet literacy)
- Research skills.
- The student will be self-motivated and have the ability to handle diverse tasks and work well independently, as well as under supervision.
- Demonstrate some knowledge of and interest in clinical psychology training around key issues such as diversity, social justice and evidence-based methodologies.
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
