Student Research Assistant (Up to 2 Positions) - Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
$12.25 plus 4% vacation pay
January 2020– April 2020 (with the possibility of extension)
Dr. Bishnu Acharya in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering is looking for a research assistant to work on a project that focuses on waste valorization to biochar and its application in conductive polymer and energy storage. Supporting the need for growing bio-based material, the research assistant will be responsible for conducting literature review of existing knowledge, develop methodology and conduct experiments. The candidate should be able to work individually as well as in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct detailed literature search on biocarbon application for energy storage and conductive polymers
- Develop research plan with detailed methodology
- Conduct experiments, analyze data and write manuscript
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Conduct detailed literature search on biocarbon application for energy storage and conductive polymers
- Develop research plan with detailed methodology
- Conduct experiments, analyze data and write manuscript
- Have experience in solid-state physics or biophysics or biomass valorization
- Knowledge of different analytical equipment
- Preference will be given to qualified candidates with previous research experiences, ability to write clearly and concisely in English for academic purposes and skills at attending to detail in research and writing
