Working as part of the ITSS Team, the Functional Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing support, coordination, recommendations, and expertise to a variety of functional areas of the university.  Areas of responsibility will include assisting end users with requests for system access, training, documentation, configuration and system operational needs, and assisting with adoption of process and system enhancements to support benefit realization efforts. The Functional Systems Analyst must be versatile and be able to communicate effectively to the campus community. The Functional Systems Analyst will be a part of the Academic, Research, and Administrative Solutions Team reporting to the Solutions Architect.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides Tier II functional support to Colleague and Recruit super users on campus
• Liaises with vendor support on all issues
• Coordinates and prioritizes the queue of Colleague and Recruit user requests and assist with change requests being proposed
• Communicates effectively with campus users, vendors, peers and management on system related topics and issues
• Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for system corrections and patches
• Assists and provides training support as required
• Utilizes system tools and reports to proactively work with end users and team members enabling their ability to achieve data accuracy on a consistent basis
• Configures system components such as workflows, forms, entities and facilitates expected outcomes for application integrations to support existing and future process needs
• Manages application user roles affecting application and data accessibility to ensure compliance with established guidelines and best practices
• Collaborates with Technical System Analysts to ensure effective and compliant user account management
• Contributes ideas and potential process and procedure improvements on an ongoing basis based on end user support observations, experiences and requests
• Leads cross-functional user groups ensuring continued process improvement and technological evolution
• Researches product roadmaps to provide recommendations on initiatives to maximize the benefits of IT system investments
• Plan and coordinate testing changes, upgrades, and new services, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration or at least 3 to 5 years related work experience
• Business Analyst Certification or equivalent recognized training
• Experience with Ellucian Colleague and Recruit
• Demonstrable aptitude to develop reports and queries
• Strong familiarity with service management and project management best practices
• Competent and proficient understanding of platforms
• Basic knowledge of system integration and interface processes
• Solid working knowledge of current technology trends
• Technically competent with various software programs, such as Google Docs, MS Office, Process Modeling
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
• Ability to systematically troubleshoot and resolve both technological and process related issues
• Ability to clearly define business and system requirements
• Ability to reliably prioritize and complete many detailed oriented tasks with minimal supervision on a daily basis
• Excellent customer service skills to support the ability to exceed customer expectations
• Ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical staff at all organizational levels
• Ability to simultaneously manage competing priorities and assignments
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Tenacious curiosity and drive for constant improvement
