The Faculty of Business is hiring a (casual) Research Assistant (RA) for an interdisciplinary project that explores the link between climate change and organizational performance. The RA will work under the supervision of Dr. Xiao Chen (PI) and his collaborators across UPEI’s School of Climate Change and Adaptation, McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business, and University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business. The RA will gain experience and receive training in interdisciplinary research that bridges the natural and social sciences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Find data points from various websites and enter them into Excel
  • Analyze data for reasonability, clerical mistakes, etc.
  • Investigate unusual data points and make corrections, as appropriate
  • Merge data sets into one master data set, to facilitate data analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong academic records, a strong work ethic, and prior RA experience (preferred)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel data manipulation skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, relative/absolute cell references, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced SAS data manipulation skills, including macros, merging data sets, etc. Alternative statistical package skills will be considered, so long as they can handle large data sets in excess of 1 million records
