Student Teaching Assistants (Up to 3 Positions) - Department of Psychology - Faculty of Arts
$12.25 plus 4% vacation pay
Fall Semester 2019, with possible extension to Winter Semester 2020
The Psychology Department seeks applications for positions as student teaching assistants for various 2000, 3000, and 4000 level Psychology courses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attending training and orientation sessions
- Assist professors in proctoring quizzes and exams
- Attend selected upper level classes/labs to assist in proctoring quizzes and exams, scanning quizzes and exams using an Excel spreadsheet or a marking template
- Assisting with course based laboratory activities, and other duties as required
- Ongoing communication with instructor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful applicants will generally be third or fourth year accepted psychology majors
- Strong interpersonal skills are required
- Reliability and dependability are a must
- Animal Use and Care Certification considered an asset
- Courses in Behavioural Neuroscience and/or Cognitive Psychology considered an asset
- Courses in Music Psychology/Cognition courses considered and asset
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
