CHL and Minor Pro Recruiting Student Assistant (Up to 3 Positions) - Mens Hockey Program - Department of Athletics and Recreation *Amended Closing Date*
$12.25 plus 4% vacation pay
ASAP – April 30, 2020
This individual supports the Head Coach in coordination and implementation of the recruiting process. This individual will compile recruiting information on all eligible players who have been scouted by or shown interest in attending UPEI.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide detailed information on recruits when possible outlining their personal characteristics and tendencies as individuals and players
- Responsible for supporting the Coach in acquiring the necessary contact information (phone, address, email) for these players
- In addition where there are personal connections with potential recruits this individual will be responsible for supporting the Coach in stewarding the development of a positive relationship between the individual, the University and the Hockey Program through ongoing phone and email correspondence
- Work with campus departments and support staff
- Assist with promotional activities
- Perform general duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Attention to details
- Adaptable and able to think quickly
- Excellent communication skills
- Possess strong computer skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with sport of hockey
- Knowledge of UPEI Men's Hockey program
- Familiar with CHL and able to network with Franchise Managements
- Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
