Sean Wiebe, principal investigator of a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Grant, invites applications for the position of Project Manager. The position focuses primarily on project management for grant outcomes, including knowledge translation, communications, and research commercialization.

The Project Manager will report to the principal investigator. The range of duties for the project will include the overall management, administrative, and financial services support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage and monitor the budgets and financial transactions
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Assist in writing reports
  • Manage research assistants
  • Manage public relations connected with research commercialization
  • Write PSAs and updates for communication and media purposes
  • Organize agendas, arrangements for, attend and take minutes for meetings
  • Continually update website
  • Assist in the development, support, and presentation of grant initiatives
  • Perform other duties, as required by the principal investigator

In support of other grant initiatives, duties may also include research, marketing, assessment, and other supports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a graduate degree in a related field
  • Experience working and researching within research commercialization
  • Knowledge of start-up education, culture, and history is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team in an business context
  • Previous successful project management experience and qualifications
  • Excellent writing, editing and multi-media computer technology skills
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and process qualitative data and information
  • Experience developing, managing and reporting budgets
  • Strong administrative skills related to project management
