Sessional Instructor - Department of Physics - Faculty of Science (Winter 2020)
The Department of Physics at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor during the forthcoming Winter 2020 Semester to instruct the course PHYS 2120, which includes three hours of lectures and three hours of lab each week. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval. The calendar description of the course is as follows:
PHYS-2120 Electricity, Magnetism, and Circuits
Topics include electric field and potential; magnetic field; electromagnetic induction; integral formulations of Gauss’ Law, Ampere’s Law and Faraday’s Law, direct-current and alternating-current circuits; resistance, capacitance, inductance and impedance; frequency response of AC circuits; and electrical measurements.
PREREQUISITE: Mathematics 2910 and Physics 2010 or Physics 2120; or permission of the instructor. Must be completed prior to taking this course.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants should hold a minimum of a Master's degree in Physics or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
