A UPEI student is required to work on a dairy cattle project related to the use of antimicrobials on Dairy Farms in Canada. The student will work primarily in the collection, editing, and analysis of veterinary dispensing records from veterinary clinics participating in a national program on antimicrobial stewardship on dairy farms in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The student is expected to interact with veterinarians, enter dispensing information into a spreadsheet and perform basic data analysis
  • The student will work with graduate students and faculty participating in the stewardship program

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The student should possess a Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent
  • Must have work experience with veterinarians and knowledge about dairy farming
  • Work experience both on dairy farms and in research is desirable
  • The student should be knowledgeable using statistical software and understand program coding, preferably R coding, SAS and Stata software
  • The student should have good communication, inter-personal, and computer skills

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
