Sessional Instructors - Faculty of Arts (Summer 2021)
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for Sessional Instructors for the Summer 2021 Semester. We are seeking instructors to teach the following courses in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.
Anthropology-1050 Introduction to Anthropology (Online)
This course introduces students to the field of cultural anthropology through an examination of cultural practices (religious, political, familial, economic) in various areas of the world.
Three hours a week (3 credits)
May 17, 2021 to June 29, 2021
Anthropology-2020 Evolution of Human Culture (Online)
This course is a survey of the origin of humankind and culture from the earliest times to the end of the stone age; prehistoric humans and their primate ancestors; the development of modern human populations; and principles of evolutionary theory and prehistory of the old world during the stone age.
Three hours a week (3 credits)
July 5, 2021 to August 17, 2021
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will have a graduate degree or a doctoral degree in Sociology or Anthropology.
Please note that applicants on the UPEI sessional roster for Sociology and Anthropology will be considered first.
