The University of Prince Edward Island, Faculty of Nursing invites applications for two tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. We are seeking candidates who are interested in joining a vibrant academic community with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and research, and strong linkages to community researchers and practitioners. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are founded on a philosophy of primary health care.  The position responsibilities could include teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in nursing, a completed doctoral degree or significant progress towards a doctoral degree, demonstrated excellence in teaching, strong evidence of research and scholarly work, and be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Prince Edward Island.  A strong background in one of the following areas is required: community health nursing, pediatric nursing, adult medical surgical nursing or mental health nursing.  Experience with or interest in the health of indigenous populations is welcome.  A Nurse Practitioner designation would be an asset.

Two additional documents must also be submitted for application to be considered complete:

1.      A teaching statement outlining the candidate’s teaching experience and philosophy of teaching.

2.      A research statement outlining a clear program of research and well-defined scholarly agenda.
