In a few short weeks, we will move away from the moniker "ERP" and unveil a new name for this exciting, cross-campus transformational project. The project deals with the changing of many UPEI processes and the supporting technology that interacts with them. It will especially enable and empower faculty, staff, and students in the areas of Student Information, Human Resources, and Finance. Since the system and its implementation are cross-functional, we are seeking participation from all members of the campus community to help us name the project. Be creative as well as mindful that the winning name will live on in perpetuity! A few key points about the contest: Entries are due by July 16, 2015 and should be submitted directly to namethatproject@upei.ca (individual and group entries will be accepted). A project-naming working group made up of staff, faculty, and student representatives will narrow the contest submissions to three (3) names. The final name will be selected from the three finalists by the Project Executive Steering Team. An iPod Touch and project-branded gift will be awarded to the winner who will also be recognized publicly for their creative contribution! Dana Sanderson Chief Information Officer

In reaction to Tim Hunt's comments ("The real 'trouble with girls' in labs" http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/tim-hunt-sexism-and-science-the-real-…), the Graduate Students' Association, with the support of the UPEISU, is hosting a reactionary event: "UPEI Women in Academia: #DistractinglySexy." The hashtag comes from a social media uproar that is still ongoing on Twitter. Female scientists are posting pictures of themselves working in the lab, or in the field, and using the hashtag to connect and contribute to an ongoing dialogue around sexism in the academy. All are welcome to attend the event on Thursday, 12:00 pm, in the SDU Main Building faculty lounge. There will be tea, coffee, and cookies. Professors will be sharing their experiences as women in universities, and then we will hold an open discussion and welcome questions. If you wish to speak, or submit a #DistractinglySexy picture of you working in your lab or in the field, please email Brittany Jakubiec at gsa@upei.ca. We look forward to seeing you all!
