Welcome, incoming international students! We're looking forward to your arrival at UPEI.

Welcome to UPEI New Student Package

I have received a letter of acceptance from UPEI. What should I do now?

Once you have paid your confirmation deposit, and have received your full admission package, if you are an undergraduate student, you must apply for a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).

We are excited to continue these discussions and look forward to having you join us at UPEI. While we cannot provide immigration advice we can direct you to the proper IRCC websites to assist you with your study permit application.

Please visit our Immigration Information page for complete details.

We can meet you at the airport

Congratulations on your acceptance to UPEI! We look forward to having you join us in person. To welcome you to the University and help you get settled, UPEI is offering our incoming students a free Airport Taxi pickup service. This service provides students with a free ride from the airport to their place of residence in Charlottetown. If available, a returning student volunteer will greet you at the airport.

The service runs from the third week of August to mid-September.

Complete our online form to request pickup service

When you have requested the service, we will send you a letter which you must present to the taxi driver on your arrival to waive the transport charge. Upon arrival at the Charlottetown Airport (YYG), please proceed to the Arrival Hall. If available, our airport pickup volunteers will be there waiting for you. If our greeters are not available, PEI Online Taxi will be waiting on the left outside the airport exit. We also use Co-op taxi, so make sure that you select the taxi company listed in your letter. If you have questions about airport arrival service please email irostu@upei.ca or sacheng@upei.ca.

Here are some local taxi numbers:

  • City Taxi: 902-892-6567
  • Co-op Taxi: 902-628-8200
  • Grabba Cab: 902-892-6000
