A: Dual Radio Speaker described in QST November 1992, page. 56 by KL7JGS & KE7X.
An audio line out goes to the headset jack located under the front of the desk for convenience sake.
B: W9GR DSP Audio filter as described by W9GR in QST (September 1992).
The audio input to this DSP filter has an audio expandor /compressor ( Signetics NE577 unity gain compandor) that can be switched in/out of line to hold audio input levels constant. This device was described by N1AYO in Electronics Now, February 1993, page 41.
C: A Radio Shack 2-way audio/video switch box.
This switch routes audio either from the W9Gr DSP filter ( TS-690s) OR the Mackie 1202vlz to the line input of the TEAC Tape Deck. In addition the DSP jack input is parallel wired to a video output jack in order that audio can be routed to the headset jack under the front of the desk of the operating position.
Audio from the varios radios and the computer are routed to this jack to facilitate the use of headphones when operating the station.
E: MFJ TNC-MIC Switch: Switches between MIC and PK-232mbx input to the IC-275a.
F: Microphone Switch box.
Switches Mic or Line audio input from the Mackie or various microphones (Switch Box H) to any one of the radios OR computer.
G: RS Audio Switch box - switches computer audio line out to computer speakers, Mackie or headset jack.
Switches mic input between either a Labtec C-322 noise supression mike-headset OR a modified kenwood headset that has a mic boom with Heil HC-4 cartridge attached. The audio can be routed directly to the microphone switch box OR to the Mackie 1202 vlz.
I: Digital & Audio Line Switch Box.
This switch box serves two purpose. It has two inputs ( DB-9 and 5 PIN DIN) and 4 outputs for each input that are used for two purposes. The 5 PIN DIN switch system is used to switch the DSP-2232 between 9k6 satellite operations, 9k6 terrestrial operations on 2 meters, and enables HF operations using the TS-690s with the W9GR DSP audio filter in-line or out of line. The DB-9 switch components are used to route audio from the TS-690s either directly to the HF speaker OR to the W9GR DSP and then to the HF Speaker. Interconnections between the 5 PIn DIN system and the DB-9 system ensures that HF audio is always available to the HF speaker no matter what the DSP-2232 is being used for. The 9k6 staellite position cuts the DSP-2232 off from the TS-690s when the HF rig is being used for SSB - thus eliminating the distortion that occurs if a TNC is connected to ACC2. The wiring in this box is complicated and if you are interested in the details, please send me an E-Mail.
J: DSP-2232.
TS-690s audio from Switch Box I can be routed to the DSp-2232 either direct or through the DSP filter. The wiring of this box is rather complicated and if interested in the details, please contact me.
More details are available in regards to the Audio & Receive setup and PK-232MBX & DSP2232 setups.
