Currently, I
have 3 aquaria in operation. One of the best ways to relax if you can not be out exploring the island is to just sit back and watch the clowns at work
- or is that play? These guys and gals have a personality that has to be seen to be
believed! Of course - you might find that it is close to impossible to find any
members of the shoal at times - they are very adept at hiding in the smallest of
places when it suites them.
I have 2 schools of Botia Macracantha or should I say
- Clown Loaches. Due to their
gregarious nature, they should be kept in groups. Other inhabitants in two of the tanks
include Zebra Danios (Brachydanio Rerio), ottos (Otocinclus Affinis), two Platydorus
Costatus algae eaters; and two pairs of bristlenose algae eaters (Ancistrus
Dolichopterus).
The third tank is home to a 5 inch red finned shark
(Epaizeorhynchus Frenatus) from Thailand who became just a little bit too aggressive at a
very young age.
