Expanding the Reach and Relevance of the Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities
If you attended the 2005 Summer Institute, you may have participated in a network meeting for your province. These meetings were the beginning of a project created by the Advisory Committee of the ASI to extend deeper into the communities that the Institute tries to reach.
Funded by the Population Health Fund of the Public Health Agency of Canada, the project aims to increase diversity & representation of excluded populations, to increase the opportunities for knowledge exchange, and to develop provincial networks committed to extending the skills, knowledge, and relationships developed at the Summer Institute, in order to facilitate change in provincial policy and programs.
In winter 2006 these newly formed provincial networks met for a second time in each Atlantic Province. In New Brunswick, both an English and French session were held.
The network conveners and coordinators wish to thank everyone for their interest and participation. Plans are under way in each province for future communications!
If you would like to be involved with the network in your province please contact lpike@chpna.ca.
