TRAVEL INFORMATION - - ACCOMMODATIONS
General Accommodation Information
For information on transportation between accommodations and conference venues, please see the Transportation - Getting Around Charlottetown section of this site. Please note that APLA 2001 attendees are responsible for securing their own accommodation in Charlottetown. Special arrangements have been made with the three facilities described below - please make your reservations by the end of April to avoid disappointment. Those wishing to stay elsewhere in the Charlottetown area should consult the PEI government's Accommodations locator service. Go directly to the accommodations available in the Charlottetown area. (As of early 2001, a flaw in this service was causing the search engine to produce no results for "Charlottetown": all searches, then, should specify "Charlottetown Area" as the location.)
The  Delta Prince Edward Hotel and Convention Centre
[www.deltaprinceedward.pe.ca
Exceptional comfort and convenience are assured for APLA 2001 attendees selecting the Delta Prince Edward: the hotel offers Charlottetown's most luxurious accommodation, while the adjoining convention centre hosts the APLA 2001 conference proceedings. "Standard" hotel rooms are available to APLA 2001 attendees  for the preferential rate of $139/ night + taxes (single or double occupancy): you can ensure a waterfront view by selecting a "Signature Service" room at $149/night + taxes (single or double occupancy). To reserve a room, call 902-894-1203 and ask for Tarida OR call the Delta's Global Reservation Service at 1-800-268-1133.  Be sure to mention that you are booking as an "APLA 2001" attendee to qualify for the conference rate.
