Research Interests

My research interests are in the areas of: environmental thought, feminist theory, ethics, philosophy of science, philosophy of education, parenting, sexuality, and critical thinking.

Teaching and Research Interests:

Africa; kinship and family; social organization; visual anthropology; colonialism and post-colonsialism; post-structural theory; science and technology studies.

Jane is a recipient of the 2004 Hessian Merit Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 2006 Janet Pottie Murray Award for Educational Leadership.

Teaching and Research Interests:

Anthropological theory; ethnography; gender; applied and medical anthropology; Melanasia; colonial and postcolonial issues; youth; migration; modernity.

Research Interests

I study ethical theory. The focus is on the definitions, concepts, and justifications for moral talk.

Sharon also teaches courses in modern Canadian history, including courses in women's, social, and cultural history.
