The University's primary insurer is the Canadian University Reciprocal Insurance Exchange (www.curie.org). Founded in 1987, CURIE is a reciprocal insurance exchange whose 58 member universities across Canada share losses arising from their operating risks. These risks include physical damage to assets, injuries, or property damage in respect of third parties, and liability for errors and omission.

The University carries a full range of liability, property and auto insurance coverage. The Comptroller's Office manages the University's insurance program.
