The Green Gables farmhouse, from which L. M. Montgomery drew her inspiration for her famous novel Anne of Green Gables, is located in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. Many tourist attractions on Prince Edward Island have been developed based on the Anne character.
Beaconsfield Historic House
Built in 1877 for a wealthy shipbuilder and merchant, Beaconsfield stands as an enduring symbol of Victorian elegance. It is one of seven Meseum and Heritage PEI sites.
Province House National Historic Site of Canada Historic
Also known as the Birthplace of Confederation, Province House is situated in the heart of historic Charlottetown.
Ski in the snow
Cross country and down-hill skiing are available at Brookville Provincial Ski Park about 40 minutes away from the UPEI campus.
In Kenya: where soccer is the language!
In July 2008, Billy, a third-year UPEI Business student, played soccer with students in Kenya while on an international placement. Says photographer Doreen Pippy, international project assistant, Billy started playing socccer with one child in the corner of the field, and all of a sudden they all started running with him. She says it was amazing to watch their excitement and enthusiasm!

Hands Together
Each September, Student Services hosts an International Student Orientation (ISO), as part of UPEI's New Student Orientation (NSO) celebrations to welcome new students. The next ISO for all new international students arriving for the 2009 September-December semester is set for Saturday, September 19, 2009.
International Students at UPEI
A group of international students get together to celebrate during International Development Week at UPEI. Held every February, the week-long celebrations include guest speakers and events, culminating in a luncheon where a major scholarship, the Dr. Vianne Timmons International Student Award, is awarded to an international student.
Shavado says welcome to winter, and don't let it scare you! Prince Edward Island's temperatures range from -15C in the wintertime to a balmy 25C in the summer.
