| Description: | Awarded to a second-, third-, or fourth-year Nursing student from Prince County, or who has received his/her pre-university education in Prince County, who has a demonstrated financial need and high academic standing. |
| Background: | This bursary is established by the Prince County Hospital Auxiliary in honour of Adele Gardiner and in recognition of her long time volunteer commitment to Prince County's Project Lifeline. As well as providing a sense of security and independence, Adele's kindness and caring while setting up Lifeline units brought friendship and comfort to the people she met. Adele Gardiner made a difference in many lives during her twelve years of devoted community service. In appreciation of her s elfless contribution and to support and encourage future care-givers to follow her example, the Prince County Hospital Auxiliary is pleased to establish this award at the University of Prince Edward Island. |
