Description: Awarded to a deserving graduating student who has made a meaningful contribution to student life and/or community service.
Background: This award is established by Alberta and Graeme Boswall who graduated from Prince of Wales College in 1945. Creation of this award is an expression of appreciation for the awards, prizes, and solid education Graeme and Alberta received during their time at PWC, one of UPEI's predecessor institutions. Learning and educating have been priority for the Boswalls. Following graduation, Graeme attended Acadia University and Alberta went to Dalhousie-Kings. They married in 1950 and stayed in Charlottetown until 1955. Graeme worked at the Charlottetown Experimental Station and Alberta taught Mathematics at PWC. In 1955 they moved to Montreal for Graeme to resume his studies at Macdonald College of McGill University. He then joined the Research and Development Division of Imperial Tobacco Limited and retired in 1984. Alberta taught Mathematics at Sir George Williams University (now Concordia) for 32 years, retiring in 1988. They now live in Quebec on the shores of beautiful Lake Memphramagog where their next door neighbour is their daughter Anne Louise and her husband Peter.
