Dale Mattock Scholarship for Women in Business

Description: Awarded to a female student who has a high academic average and who is entering third- or fourth-year Business.
Background: This award was established by Dale Mattock in 2000 to assist women in obtaining qualifications leading tochallenging and exciting managerial positions in administration and business. This award recognizes the growing number of women being accepted at senior levels in business recognizing manyfind it difficult to find both the time and funds to undertake formal study. This award is to encourage andrecognize the commitment of those women who are prepared to work toward their goals. In Ms. Mattock's words "Isuppose I just want to say I am proud of you. Keep up the good role model and all the best in your futurecareer in business". Dale Mattock is a wife, mother, grandmother, and her own person. She is a life-long student and possesses thefollowing qualifications: BA History, Teacher Certificate Special Education, Master of Education, GraduateDiploma Distance Education, PhD Organizational Change Higher Education. In addition, Dale has a Certificate inInteractive Multimedia and at the time of writing she is completing a Drawing Certificate. Dale writes poetry,paints, and enjoys embroidering her own designs on silk. Dale Mattock worked at the University of Prince Edward Island from 1998 to 2000 as Director of the ITECCentre. She now lives in Kapunda, Australia. Kapunda is the oldest mining town in Australia and is near oneof Australia's largest wine regions. The area is much like PEI in that it has rolling hills and pasture land.In the community, Dale is a member of Rotary and the Kapunda Art Gallery.
