We're pleased to announce that the AAU has selected UPEI as the site of the Fall 2010 AAU Teaching Showcase. The tentative theme is "The Senior Year and Other Transitions," but we'd like help working through ideas for the day. We also need volunteers to help with the organization, but coming to the brainstorming session is not a commitment to work on the conference -- we promise! If you're interested, but can't make the time, please contact Shannon Murray (smurray@upei.ca).

The news of the disastrous earthquake in Haiti has made a deep impression on all of us. Our sincere thoughts and hope go out to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. Our UPEI community can help by contributing to relief agencies (http://cuso-vso.org/donate/haiti-earthquake.asp) such as the Canadian Red Cross (http://www.redcross.ca/article.asp?id=000043&tid=016). The Government of Canada will match all donations.
Please note: Markess Charles, a Haitian student who graduated with a Business degree from UPEI in May 2009, is safe and well. For more information, contact Blaine MacDonald 566-0378.

On Monday, January 25, 2010, Mail Services, currently located in the Utility Building, will be relocated to the recently renovated Shipping & Receiving area of the AVC. This location will be for sorting and processing mail only.
Departmental mail will be inserted into new mail boxes installed in the lower level of Kelley Building. With these changes, only departmental mail boxes will be offered; personal mail boxes are no longer available.
Mail will be pre-sorted at the AVC location, then delivered and inserted into the new mail boxes in Kelley Building by 9:30 am daily Monday to Friday. To accommodate outgoing and campus mail, a drop box has been placed next to the mail boxes; mail will be picked up from the drop box daily at 9 am and 2 pm.
ALL mail deposited in the drop box must be sorted and bundled into the following categories: PEI, CANADA, USA & INT'L, and be properly identified with return address, (department) and or budget account number for accounting purposes when processing the mail. Failure to do so will result in mail being opened and returned to sender for proper identification.
* NOTE: There are NO changes to the mail service being provided within the AVC.
