The Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities is announcing a new format for its programming this summer - a bilingual Symposium on Gender and Community Leadership on August 17-18 in Charlottetown. This exciting event would not be possible without the generous funding support of Status of Women Canada and our many partners.

A key decision in our planning for a new Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities – and a new phase in our evolution – is that effective this year, the Institute will be held every two years. Hosting the Institute every two years will enable us to explore existing challenges as well as emerging ideas and opportunities that you’ve told us are relevant to you and your communities. It will also enable us to move towards developing and delivering innovative year-round programming in the four Atlantic Provinces.
With our focus this year on community leadership, here’s what we have planned:
Our full Summer Institute program will resume in August 2012 with a focus on engaging women and youth in leading active communities.
We’ll be in touch with more details as we move forward with our planning. In the meantime, if you have any questions or suggestions for our activities this year or the full Atlantic Summer Institute next year, we’d love to hear from you. You can reach us at (902) 894-3399 or asi@thequaich.pe.ca
