A Board of Directors and several planning committees are required to ensure the smooth delivery of such an Institute.
The Atlantic Summer Institute, a recently Incorporated organization has a Board of Directors that are representative from research, government and community. The Board provides broad-based guidance for program direction, partnership development, and resource commitment for the Institute and its related projects.
Specifically, the Board of Directors provides project guidance and focus for the Institute, creates the agenda and program, supports/guides the sub-committees, encourages and supports attendance of participants, ensures a comprehensive evaluation process, and promotes the development of projects from the Institute.
One such project, developed in 2005 was the provincial networks. These were created in order to reach out further into the Atlantic Canadian communities with the vision of increasing diversity and representation from each of the four provinces.
