Medical and Biological Physics

The Medical and Biological Physics minor offers science undergraduates a specialization in the physics concepts and theories that are being used in a wide array of diagnosis and treatment technologies in medicine and biomedical research. It also provides a foundation for knowledge of human anatomy, histology, physiology and pathophysiology to understand human health and disease, and the safe use of biomedical imaging and treatment (e.g., ionizing radiation) devices.
The rapidly growing and changing aspects of biomedical technologies have placed extraordinary demands on professionals delivering high-quality healthcare. The minor program aims to expose students to these new methods and technologies.  The knowledge and skills obtained can be applied to graduate studies, medical school or post-baccalaureate degrees in one of the many healthcare professions.
