| Description: | Awarded to an Atlantic Canadian graduating student in Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College who demonstrates enthusiasm and achievement in Companion Animal Wellness (i.e., integrative and preventative health care). |
| Background: | This award was established through fund raising events sponsored by Richard and Donna Hassard. The Hassards also have made substantial gifts to this fund. The award was created in recognition of Companion Animal Wellness and was named initially after the Hassard's dog Digby, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. In 2019, Richard and Donna requested that the award be renamed in memory of both Digby and another of their beloved Cavalier King Spaniels, Tully. |
