Floyd Trainor Award
Maximum Amount: $500.00
Process: Recommendation by Studio Arts
Scholarship Type: Award
Description: Granted to a deserving student in Creative Arts, Journalism, or Fine Arts programming. Recommended by the department.
Background: Floyd Trainor was a graphic artist employed by UPEI in the graphics department and was a member of CUPE Local 1870. He was a well known graphic illustrator and artist when he was employed at UPEI. When he died, CUPE 1870 wanted to create an award in his name to be awarded to a deserving UPEI student. It was felt that a prize for the studio arts course was an appropriate way to remember Floyd and his art.
