The University of Prince Edward Island provides accommodation for up to 440 students in three different residence buildings on campus. Each of our Residence halls is unique in structure, traditions, and lifestyle options, but all offer the opportunity for students to experience the best that residence life has to offer. Please be advised that UPEI Residence does not offer family housing to full- or part-time students; contact the UPEI Student Union for off-campus housing suggestions.
Bernardine Hall
Bernardine Hall is a modern four-storey building, adjacent to the Dining Hall. Bernardine houses 147 students who live in suites of two rooms, allowing every three or four students to share complete bathroom facilities. Each floor in Bernardine contains a TV lounge, a study lounge, a kitchenette, and laundry facilities. This traditional residence is typically housed by first year students but also houses upper year students. Three floors are designated as a co-ed living environment and one floor is desiginated for female only living.
Blanchard Hall
Blanchard Hall, our apartment-style residence, is located a short distance from the Wanda Wyatt Dining Hall at the south end of the campus. This three-storey brick building contains 63 two-bedroom furnished apartments, complete with kitchen, living room and bathroom. Two students have their own bedroom but share the common living area of the apartment.
Common laundry facilities and a TV lounge are available on the first floor. One section is designated as a "low-key section" with extended quiet hours. Priority for spaces in Blanchard Hall goes to students in second year and above, as well as to mature students.
Bill and Denise Andrew Hall
Andrew Hall is a co-ed five storey residence with 2-bedroom suites,as well as a small number of 1- and 3-bedroom suites. Each suite is equipped with a bathroom and a kitchenette. Students living in this building will have access to common TV lounges, laundry facilities, and the convenience of entering the Wanda Wyatt Dining Hall without exiting the building.
