Returning residence students may move-in Monday, September 5, 2011. Specific information regarding move-in will be sent along with your room assignment in late July/early August.
PLEASE NOTE: Keys will not be available for pick-up before this date. In extenuating circumstances, arrangements may be made for students to arrive on a different date (contact the Residence Office at (902) 566-0330 or residence@upei.ca).
December Move-Out
As noted in the Residence Life Agreement, residence fees do not include the Holiday vacation period. Students are required to vacate residence within 24 hours of their last exam during the December examination period.
Special Note to International Students: The University of Prince Edward Island recognizes that International students may not be able to vacate residence for the Holiday break because of travelling constraints. Therefore, International students may request to remain in residence for the entire Holiday break for a nominal fee.
Residence will re-open after the Holiday break on January 3, 2012, beginning at 9:00am. For those students who will be new to residence, move-in information will be mailed to your along with your specific room assignment.
April Move-Out
Students are required to vacate residence within 24 hours of their last exam during the April examination period. Residents are expected to leave their rooms in a clean state and will be held responsible for any extra cleaning that must be done to bring their rooms to that state. Move-out extensions may be requested (but not necessarily granted) before April 6, 2011. Move-out extensions will not be granted for students beyond Sunday, April 17, 2011.
New Student Orientation (NSO) Activities
During the first week of September, UPEI, the Student Union, and Residence organize fun and exciting activities for new students to UPEI residence. All activities are designed to help students learn more about their Residence, their University, and one another.
Throughout the week, various presentations on campus life and fun activities are offered to introduce students to UPEI. NSO is a great way to meet other students and have a lot of fun while doing so! While everyone is encouraged to participate, all NSO events are strictly voluntary.
Information on NSO can be obtained by calling 902 566-6019 or e-mailing nso@upei.ca. Information on events will also be provided at registration.
