Short Biography
I completed an interdisciplinary Humanities degree in Utrecht, the Netherlands in 2001. In 2002 I completed my M.Phil in Reformation and Enlightenment Studies at Trinity College, University of Dublin. My thesis attempted to narrow the gap between Reformation and Enlightenment historical narratives, the histories of John Knox and William Robertson respectively. In 2003 I completed my MA in Medieval Studies at the Central European University, in Budapest, Hungary: my thesis focused on the tropes of writing medieval historical narratives, specifically emotional narratives. For two years I lived in Dushanbe, Tajikistan—a former soviet republic—teaching interdisciplinary humanities courses as part of the Aga Khan Humanities Project. There I participated in the completion of a 4-year undergraduate humanities curriculum project, taught numerous classes and workshops, and through travel and friendships generally gained a close affinity for this small mountainous country. In 2006 I returned to my native P.E.I. to seek new adventures and stories.
