Please note that there is a "designated" drop off area to allow easier access into the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Please ask UPEI security officers, who will be directing traffic on campus, for directions.

If you're looking for something different, call to learn more about the budget-friendly Bernardine Hall dormitory-style rooms, or utilize your own private kitchen and living room in a Blanchard Hall two-bedroom apartment! UPEI Conference Services


Invitations are collected at the door. Guests must have their invitation to gain admittance and to be assured of a seat. Guests must be seated by 9:45 am for morning ceremonies and 2:15 pm for afternoon ceremonies. Please note: Seating is strictly limited by fire safety regulations.

Mass Celebration and Gathering

Graduates and familes of graduates from all faith backgrounds are welcome to attend the traditional Roman Catholic "Convocation Mass". Please refer to the UPEI Grad Week and Convocation Schedule


For guests, there is plenty of parking close to the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre (within a 5- to 10-minute walk)—please refer to the campus map for the location of general parking areas on campus. Please arrive early to ensure that you will be seated before graduates arrive in their procession (9:45 am and 2:15 pm). 

There are a number of accessible parking spots, designated by the International Symbol of Access (wheelchair symbol), situated in front of the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre and the W.A. Murphy Student Centre. 

Photography and Video

The Convocation ceremonies are broadcast live on Eastlink TV and re-broadcast several times to cable subscribers. The broadcast will also be live-streamed at Guests are welcome to video and take photos of the Convocation ceremonies in several designated locations.

Reception following Convocation ceremony

Immediately following each Convocation ceremony, there will be a reception in McMillan Hall in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre. Graduates, students, staff, faculty, friends, and family are welcome. Please refer to the UPEI Grad Week and Convocation Schedule for more details on all Convocation-related events.
