Jessica Strong, Ph.D., ABPP, is a licensed and Board Certified clinical geropsychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychology. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville, specializing in Aging and Neuropsychology. Dr. Strong completed her clinical psychology internship and clinical post-doctoral fellowship at the Boston VA Healthcare System, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees with majors in Psychology, German, and Piano Performance. Before beginning her graduate studies, she received a Fulbright Grant to study the effect of music therapy on dementia and depression at the Central Institute for Mental Health in Mannheim, Germany. Dr. Strong’s current research program focuses broadly on 1) aging and cognition, in particular how experiences impact the cognitive aging process, 2) program evaluation of late life interventions for mental health and well-being, and 3) what factors influence students' likelihood to pursue a career working with older adults.
